The 108th Belford Annual Show took take place on Saturday 26th September 2026.
The 108th Belford Village Show was very successfully held on 26th September as over 400 people turned up to see over 950 exhibits from over 100 local exhibitors, with not a drop of rain in sight. The quality of the home produced work, on display, was of a very high standard including the Children’s Sections, and it made for a wonderful display in the Show Marquee.
This year the emphasis was on our Community and the part it plays in our lives, not just to celebrate the show, but the vital role it plays in our health and happiness. Our marquee displays do more than showcase talent – they keep traditional crafts alive, passing invaluable skills down through generations and preserving the unique heritage of our valuable community. To that purpose we had stands and displays from various local community groups and charities, as well as local crafts and conservation groups and the local primary school.
As in previous years, our Dog Show was very well supported, with 11 separate classes including such favourites as “Dog who looks most like its Owner” and “Dog with the Waggiest Tail” proving very popular, and drawing in a very wide variety of dogs, and owners.
Beyond tradition, our Show highlights the profound benefits of creating and growing for our physical and mental wellbeing. Nurturing a garden, baking, crafting and expressing our creativity gives us a sense of purpose, encourages us to stay active and offers a powerful sense of mindfulness. The Show is a celebration of that therapeutic connection – a chance for us all to step away from the bustle of daily life, connect with nature and enjoy the simple pleasures of shared achievement in whatever form we choose.
An event on this scale is a true labour of love and the Organisers would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to our hardworking committee, many volunteers and local sponsors who have all given their support so generously.
At the end of an entertaining afternoon, prizes were given out, by our President William McLaren, to the winners in the numerous Sections. The final act was to announce the winner of the President’s Trophy, for what he thought was the best of the best, and he gave the award to Jimmy Johnson for his Cactus Dahlias.
